We are now closed for the season. We will open again Late Dec 2026. Keep checking our Facebook Page for the latest updates. Welcome to Smithy’s PYO Cherries, Cromwell. We sell red, export grade New Zealand cherries which you pick yourself in our orchard. Find us at 123 Ripponvale Road, Cromwell. 8am – 6pm every day. Our cherries are $17 / kg. There is no entrance fee but we do ask that people visiting the orchard buy at least 1kg of cherries.
Smithy’s Cromwell PYO Cherries
Our cherry trees are espalier grown which means they are very easy to pick. At least 60% of our cherries can be picked from the ground and we have ladders for those that are higher up. You can spend as long as you like filling your basket.
While you are here, don’t forget to say hello to our friendly sheep. Kids love feeding them and we have pellets available.
Our orchard also has plenty of space for picnics and lounging around after your hard work. Cold drinks & real fruit ice-creams are available to purchase for the little (and big kids). We also have toilets on site and some fun lawn games to try.
We have lots of off road parking right next to the orchard – just follow the signs ! Find us at 123 Ripponvale Rd, Cromwell.

You can gift any amount. Our cherries are $17 / kg. We ask that people visiting the orchard buy at least 1kg of cherries.
